The information is from FreeBMD which is a free transcription of the GRO indexes (indexes for Birth Marriage and Death certificates) The site is: http://freebmd.rootsweb(.)com/cgi/search.pl (remove the brackets before trying the address) When you look up a marriage bride or groom, you can see who else was recorded as getting married at the same venue, but unfortunately as the system allows up to a max of four marriages to be listed with the same reference details, you cannot tell who married who! (at least not without further research!) The ref I posted was for the only William Cattermole who married in Suffolk where there was a possible bride called Esther. However, it's not necesserity straightforward to say ''this is the one'' as what if your rellies went somewhere else to marry, or didn't marry at all!!???? So, the best thing to do would be to get the birth cert for benjamin (their son), but I see there is more than one Benjamin Cattermole born around the same time frame, so it's not straightforward to get the right birth cert. (the right cert would show his mum's name as Esther Cattermole, formerly XYX.....hopefully Hall! Merry |
