Hi all I have googled the above place (originally found in the Consistory Court of the Bishop of Exeter) but only get one return and I can't access it. Anybody got any idea where these places are - Hembury and Saltemersshe (sounds like saltmarsh to me?) around the year 1360? Where can I look to find modern equivilent? Thanks Jenny

This may not be right but Saltash in Cornwall used to be called Esse - it somehow got changed to Saltash over the years which bears some similarity to Saltemersshe. Hope you find it. Maggie

Hembury is in Devon, close to Honiton. I found a Saltmarshe in Hereforshire too! Maggie
