Hi How do I go about finding where someone is burried? I have googled for cemetries in Hull but came across a few weird sites! Any ideas? Kimberley

the local government website is always a good place to start How long ago are you looking - and are you sure its Hull (death cert?) also try Genuki http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/YKS/ERY/Hull/index.html

I tried the council website but it didn't seem to give any kind of cemetry list. Looking at the beginning of 1920. It is for a infant possibly stillborn.

What a yucky web site! Did you find this page - http://www.hullcc.gov.uk/portal/page?_pageid=221,102436&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL I'd usually suggest contacting them directly if you are certain it was Hull - don't know what sort of response you'd get though!

The register for stillbirths - after about 1926 or 1927 - is not open. Stillbirths before this might not be registered at all. If the baby lived - even for a few minutes - there should be both a birth registration & a death registration - have you checked for those?

There is a birth and death registration both in March 1920 which makes me think that Norah did not live very long. I will be applying for the death certificate next week (pay day!) so I'll find out why she died soon. I will have a look at those sites though thank you :o)
