Hi everyone, (again). I just cannot seem to find one of my rellies, Sarah Owen. I know that she married my Great great Grandad, William (Henry) Chilton on May 17th 1891. She is down as being aged 23, Spinster, and he is 22 Batchelor. From this I get her birth date to be 1868/1867. She died, aged 29 in 1897, suggesting year of birth 1869. She died in the March Qtr. and was married in the June Qtr, so I know that her birthday was between the two (est. DOB etc.) From the marriage cert: her father was Thomas Owen, a coal miner, and the 2 witnesses were called John and Margaret Owen. Both bride and groom have Altofts as being the residence at time of marriage, so i would assume her to be there on the 1891 census, this being only about 1 month before -but I can't see her at all. Family legend has it that her and her family all came from Altofts - but don;t know whether this is true or not. As I said she died before 1901 so no place of birth there! BOO HOO, any help appreciated.

Why would her father be Thomas Chilton on the marriage cert? Do you mean Owen? Liz

In the 1891, the occupation looks like Horse something In the 1881, this Thomas Owen is a Cab Driver and in 1871 is an Ostler, so I don't think it is the right family Wishing you better luck. Carol
