Thanks for the replies everyone I am really sorry I haven't had chance to reply earlier - problems with connections. Yes Merry those are the census records I have for Matthew. 1881 is the only one I can find with Ann. Ed I can get to Durham County Hall, in Easter hols hopefully. Jim I will try and take a look at the 1851 census again. As a lot of those Richardson names match mine in Church Brough , WES and kirby. Heather, the wedding would be pre 1869 according to the children in 1881 census. Although I can not find Matthew in 1871 and a lot of kind people took second looks for me months ago. Will give that year and 1851 another go!

You could have a look on familyrelatives.org - pay to view - you can do a name search for the marriage from 1866-1920. Is Llewellyn the oldest child? Ive just checked 1880-1884 and there is no sign of them in marriages for those years.

I just received a birth cert today (at last!). I found that the mother was not who I thought she was! The birth cert states that Matthew Richardson and Ann Richardson formerly Walton were parents of Llewellyn Richardson born 1884 Hetton Le Hole, Co. Durham. Had a look on Freebmd and the ancestry bmd but can't seem to find a marriage. Maybe missed it. Just praying that they weren't telling porkies like some others in my tree! I have them living in Helmington Row 1881 where Ann is stated as from Hamsterly abt 1843. Matthew was born 1837 Kirkby Thore, Westmoreland. I think she may have died before 1890 as I have Matthew remarried in Durham. Any help appreciated.
