I MUST BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG - BUT WHAT???

When I enter an email into folder on Outlook Express it usually goes in - and then it reappears down the side under the Inbox, Outbox, Drafts etc. Sometimes I've looked into my folders, cos I knew it was there, only to find it had disappeared and reappeared down the side again. It's a nuisance to say the least. Anyway everyone can see them and that's not the purpose of folders. Please can anyone tell me what's happening cos I'm damned if I can fathom it out!! OK I admit I'm an IT illiterate but I didn't think I was that bad.

I'm not sure how you are trying to move your emails but if I want to transfer an email from the Inbox to a particular folder, I just click on it and while holding down the left click button on the mouse, drag it to the folder. The email will no longer appear in the Inbox but will now be in the folder I placed it in. Does that help? Rose

The other way of putting an email into a folder is to right click on it and select 'move to folder'. This assumes you have already created a suitable folder to store it in. Like Rosemary I usually click and drag it into the folder name on the left. However it is quite easy to 'miss' the little name - in which case the email might end up at the bottom of the list like an orphan!?? Anne

Thank you. I click on the email heading, open it, click 'move to folder', folder opens and I scroll for the name (or open new folder) click OK and it goes in automatically - at least sometimes. I've never had the need to click and drag.

Jim, I do it just as you do. It works for me. Good luck with it. Deanna x
