Ann, just wanted this info added I am new to posting on tips board ,i didnt think to put in info so people could look at the Census to see the letters. this is the info.Frederick Charles born 1860,Manchester,Lancashire.1891 Census Living in Chorlton on Medlock,Lancashire,

C.J. or L.C.? These letters are where the 'guys back at the office' are classifying jobs into industries usually. CJ - are you sure its not CT - commercial traveller? My GGF has it next to his job - Biscuit salesman

Hi, my gt-gt grandfarther,s occupation was a Brewer,s traveller.and over this on the Census is in capital letters are the letters,L.C.this is a common thing with people that have travelling occupations,I found someone that was a Mineral worker Traveller with the same letters over his occupation.This is a mystery to me i would like to solve any idea,s.?
