Advice wanted - can't find great grandmothers birt

I have the names of my grandmothers parents (off her birth cert, so its accurate) but am unable to find a marriage entry for them (cert gives my great grandmothers maiden name so I know they were married), or a birth entry for my great grandmother. I cant find her on 1901 census, but she was probably born after then...so how do I carry on researching the line? Cant even find a death entry for her! Details are: my grandmother - Violet E Price born 1924 in Brynmenyn, Bridgend, my great grandparents - Percy & Gentila Price nee Roberts. Although Violet remembers her mum as being GENTINA, not Gentila. Not sure why this is, Violets birth cert very clearly says Gentila.

Just because her mother was using the father's surname doesn't mean that they were married! Another possibility is that the marriage actually happened after the birth, perhaps even some years afterwards.

How old was Gentila/Gentina on that birth cert

Doesnt say, unfortunately. Checked LOADS of marriage entries on BMD but found none, over space of about 6 yrs.

Checked about 10 yrs of birth records for her too!

Jess: English/Welsh birth certificates don't give the age of either parent.
