hi i have not been doing my tree long ,but live in the nottingham area, what happens at these evening and what will i be able to find out ? are they worth going to ? |

I have never been to any of these evenings but I imagine it might be helpful especailly if you have ancestors in Notts. I did a wea course as an introduction to family history and although in hindsight it seems all quite easy now but without it I would have been completed lost. I probably wouldn't have got past ordering my first cert. The concept of the registers being split into quarters I coldn't get my head around to begin with. |

More like what names aren't I doing in Nottinghamshire! From being told all my life that I wasn't related to anyone in Nottingham as we were transported in by aliens to being related to most of the county. |

i know what you mean, theres not many of my dads dad(brine) side in nottingham (but still more then i know) but his mums side has been in notts for at least 200 yrs lol(towle) any way you never know we may link alomg the way |
