Fanny is usually short for Frances. Maybe the enumerator filled in the form for the family and misheard her name? Or was perhaps Fanny her second christian name that she was known as and she was baptised Hannah Frances?

Well anything is possible - I suppose 'Hanny' could easily become Fanny. My mum used the name Fanny for anyone as a casual affectionate nickname - 'Come on Fanny Ann' would be the shout up our stairs when it was time for me to go to school!
