thats what I thought, and if thats true why did I get a message saying there might have been a problem with it ??? I think I will email them again and tell them that

Maybe no one else has reported the problem. I can't understand all that 'tech talk' - when it's them who prepare the file and email to your email address!

had a reply from GR (a record time)and they say they have not heard of anybody else having this problem ?????and to make sure when I export it as a GEDCOM 5.5 and the character set as ANSI whatever that means !!!!

Well thats what happened to me! You could try again, otherwise contact GR & see if they can help.

looking down the list of problems is says if you have trouble and it doesnt import correctly try it again I have emailed them anyway.

thanks for your reply I remember now there was some sort of error message what a waste of time, whats the point of GR I am going to email them and ask if they are going to do something about it , thanks again.

I exported my tree from GR to my 'Family Historian' software last September. When my software opened up the file a message came up on the screen which said something like 'the file had'nt been trailered correctly'. I soon found out what this meant when I opened up the file, some individuals weren't linked to any of their family and certain information was missing. So all of my 700+ individual's records had to be checked! I can't see that it's anything we're done as GR does the export for us. Once the file is on our computer then our sotware can open it up. I can only presume it's a problem with GR.

I exported my Tree from here it arrived in a email which I then imported into FTM but half the names seem to be missing any ideas what I did wrong thanks , and can I remedy it easily
