If you have tried everything else, and still cannot find a family that you *know* should be in a particular place, search the pages manually. For the 2nd time, I have found a family that have been given completely the wrong surname! Not mis-spelled or mis-transcribed but a different name altogether! Tired enumerator?? You're not likely to pick it up searching the indexes, but when you can see the family as whole, on the page, the penny suddenly drops!! Debbie

You would probably need to do the same (trawl) if you have peeps transcribed with someone elses surname, too. I was looking for Henry Horniman and found him and his family transcribed as Elliott - the surname of the people living nextdoor!!! Merry

Hi Merry, That's exactly what happened to mine the first time! Although the husbands christian name was entered and then Head, in the appropriate space (as a new family) he had just dittoed the surname all the way down. So when they were indexed they were given the same name as the family above. Last night, though, while looking for this second family, had tried all the usual things - no luck. Thought there may actually be a page or 2 missing. So manually went through the area, checking for missing schedule numbers. I found this family at the top of the page. Their name is Paddick, but had been written in as Seley!!?? Lord knows where that come from. But - they're all there, children as well, right ages, and the wife wasn't born locally, and even her birth place is correct. Has to be them! Debbie

Hi, I wonder if that can explain why I can't find a family on 1891, who are on 1901. William Clarke c1860 Attlebrough Norfolk Louisa Clarke c1859 Strand London Louisa Fleming Clarke c1888 Clapham Rose Clarke c1890 Clapham The 1901 lists the spelling as without the 'e' but I can't find them anywhere. The address in 1901 is 101a Inglelow Road Battersea. How do I go about searching page by page, or do you mean literally searching page by page, not online? Lynn
