Well his wife's name is Frances and the F in her name doesn't look the same as the letter in the address. It looks like an E when compared to Edmond but I can't work out the word at all. Will keep trying. Daisy |

On the pages before, and the page after, it looks like _ariot wood Cottages. Can make out that first letter though. Maybe Harriot Wood?? It's not a C as it is different to the C in Cottages. Could be an E, as it is like the one in Elizabeth. |

I think it looks like a 'G' but the top half has disappeared slightly due to the angle of the pen nib...just looks very similar to the 'G' on George on that page. I thought it said Garnet Wood Farm on that page - but flicking through the other pages it looks like something different on each one LOL. Sorry! |

oooh I just popped off for lunch and now look lol!! I've spoken to m-i-l (its her ancestor!) and she can't think of a Wood near Lynsted! I will get her to drive round the village at some point and see if anything is still there. I do tend to agree with Daisy tho - the first time I saw it I thought it was an 'E', but I can't make sense of it based on that! Thank you everyone so much for taking the time to look. I will have a look for that pub too! Maz. XX |

I've multimapped it and zoomed into the area just in case the name still exists but can't find it anywhere. Anyone got an old map? Daisy |

Greeting's Again Maz..... I agree with Kim .. it's.... ERRIOTT WOOD If you go to the 1881. Census (which is the clearest ) Click on Kent Then Lynsted Then click on District No. 6. Description of enumerater's District It's the same run of Street names as the 1871 & District No. 7 for the 1861. Census It's District 7 for the Census you were looking at MIKE. |
