The parish registers have been filmed by the LDS. If there is a centre near you they will order it for you (for a small fee) and you can use their facilities to search it. Gwynne

Please can someone clarify Did the LDS film ALL parish registers, or only those you can access on the IGI?

Filming was very hit or miss and continues now. To see what has been filmed do a placename search in the catalogue on the familysearch website. Gwynne

A lot of the records are available on the website Medway Ark. You will find it if you google

LDS did not film all the registers,as some churches objected BUT you can see more stuff on film at their centres than you get on the IGI, which is quite selective. If possible I would recommend seeing the original register where you can - there's often more information on it than on the IGI extract, just as there's more on a census image than a transcript. nell

Here in Faversham Kent, our library has the local registers on microfilm, as well as the free churches. (Methodist, Bible Christians and Independant [Partridge Lane Chapel] ). I have a copy of the birth records for Bethersden Baptist Chapel and some burial records for other baptist chapels in the area. David
