ADEN in ESSEX ?

On the 1871 census I have someone as being born in ADEN, ESSEX. Anyone know where this is or if it might be a misheard/miswritten place Tried Googling with no success Thanks Fred |

Have you looked at the image? or is that the transcription? If you want any specific help, we'll need the names DoB, Place of birth etc. so we can look, too. Christine |

It's from the image, definitely looks like ADEN. and is transcribed as ADEN. I live in Essex as well, and I have never heard of it. Can't find it on AA routefinder either . Thanks for the replies |

Would it be the one for Agnes Muncey, at the Montague House school in Richmond? If so, she was born ''Haydon'' (Heydon?), Essex according to the 1861. She must have not pronounced her H's when the enumerator called! |
