I am trying to find a marriage for John COULBY AND Sarah SELMES. I three children birth certs for this couple, but their marriage is proving difficult to find. I have searched the indexes backwards and forwards a couple of times and found nothing that even vaguely matches. So I tried the parish records... can't find them. E-mailed the current priest only to discover that the registers were destroyed by german bombs in WW2. Asked the local FHS about the records, to be told very few bishops transcripts have survived. Have also checked the neighbouring parish just in case!! no sign. Any ideas if there is anything esles I can check? or is it a case of just leaving it??? |

I'd write a stroppy letter to their department's director. Won't get you your certificate, but it'll vent some steam! And you never know, it might even do some good...! |
