who lived at an address between 1944 and 1951

Thankyou for the advice Janet, i might have a look to see if i can find out anything about who else was living at the Addresses and it might give me more of a clue about the person im looking for. Dawn

There were no electoral rolls during the war period. 1939-1945 but there was an electoral roll for 1946 or 1947, so you may like to check from 1946/7 onwards. You could also try Trade Directories. One of the more well known Trade Directories, Kellys, were not really published during the war years, though there are some exceptons to this and many places did not resume with Kellys or other Directories until about 1952. As has already been suggested, you will only get on the roll those people eligible to vote and remember back then that would be anybody over the age of 21, nobody else, but if there were lodgers over 21 eligible to vote then they will be also recorded at the address. Thanks nell and sam i wont try looking there then, i have a really hard one to find as i have two possible first names and a choice of three surnames for the person im looking for and cannot find her. oh well i shall have to think of something else. Thanks anyway. Dawn

I'm fairly sure there were no electoral rolls during the war, so 1944-45 might not be so easy to trace. nell

Is there a way to find out everyone that lived in a house between the years 1944 and 1952 in Durham South Shields. Im trying to find details of my mum's sister and i cant find any birth info so i thought i would see if i can get the details of where they lived and see if the whole household were named but i dont know where to look if it is possible???
