System restore is on Windows XP or later, not sure about Windows Me or Windows 2000. Definitely not on Windows98 though. Which is what I'm using here at work... Michael

Id just like to say, this happened to me - there was an automatic download with this stuff from microsoft and I didnt want it! I just went into programs and deleted the OE2. To do a system restore is really easy, just go to start. When you click on that you may find the system restore program already has an icon on the start up programs shown, mine does. If not just click on Help and Support and you will see the options and one is System Restore. You should have days on the calendar highlighted to show which are possible restore points, just click on one and then the program will guide you through it. If you dont have restore points (the dates in darker shades) then may be you havent activated system restore??

Hi Joan. When you request a system restore, Start, Help, and you select 'Restore my computer to an earlier time', you are presented with a calendar, the restore points are in bold dates. Regards Carol www.genealogyprinters(.)com

Hi Irene, No sorry I don't know how to do that BUT having done what Michael suggested I have got my own Outllook Express bavk. Michael did mention about Julie in the States info on One stop Computer maintenance, but I have seach the various message boards and can't find it, do you know about it?? By the way thanks for trying to help me, the problem is when I was at work I use a computer but if it breaks down someone fixed it, wish I had someone at home who could do that. I think I should maybe take a course in computers in the evening. maybe. Betty

Do you know how to restore your pc to a previous date. You could do this to the date your emails changed. You will not loose anything you have on the pc. It will restore the setting. Irene

Hi Michael, Thanks for your help!! As I said don't get too technical, I have never backed- up anything let alone put it onto a disc, don't even have a disc. I just usually run my Norton Virus check every few days, up until now that has been ok. I don't know what I have done wrong but thanks for your help anyway. Will check on Julie fro the states, her info is usually too technical for me too but will print it off and try it. Betty

I don't use Outlook myself, so I can only suggest what I'd do, myself. That sort of problem doesn't often happen just by chance, but usually by either a virus, or by some defect in your hardware. Check on the thread from Judy in the States about one-stop computer maintenance; she's good! First, back up anything that you don't want to risk losing - that's good advice anyway. So, put addresses, messages, data, pictures, whatever - onto disk or CD or USB memory sticks. Next, run your anti-virus program, ad-aware and any of the other computer cleaning programs you can get. I'd do a disk check using system tools if you have Windows. Go to 'start' >'programs'>'accessories' >'system tools'>'scandisk' and foolow the instructions. If it's all OK, then try to re-install Outlook. You might do well to un-install old versions first, but you will certainly lose addresses and messages if you do. If you are feeling confident, do some of the other tasks in accessories system tools, like clean-up and defrag. Back up first! Good luck Michael

I recently, well a few months ago downloaded microsoft outlook express 6, I don't know whats happened but its gone back recently to outlook express 2, and its awful. What have I done and how can I change it, the version of outlook express I have doesn't have delete X, no delete or anything at the top. Please don't be technical because i just use the computer, not a programmer ok. Betty
