I wrote on two threads about whether the paper used to print our certficates was acid-free or not..........also PROMISED to respond with the reply from the GRO when I received a reply!! Needless to say, I have just looked through the threads I have responded to and cannot see the ones on which I mentioned this!! Sooooooooooooo............................... Here's my Q to the GRO and their reply: ======================================================= Hi, Can anyone tell me whether the copy certificates issued from the GRO are printed/copied on Acid FreePaper??? Should I presume whatever paper is used by the GRO is also used by local register offices? Regards ======================================================= The paper used to print secure certificates is archival grade acid free. I hope that this answers your question. Regards Joanne Edkins RSU Manager ======================================================= So, assuming they use acid-free ink, then we are OK!! LOL Merry |

Merry, thanks for that. One question - what is a 'secure' certificate, and does it differ from the ones I have at home? lol - sorry, that's two isn't it :) |

by secure certificate they mean the intricate underprinting on the certificates they issue. it's a wavy pattern with some words that runs repeatedly across the whole page hope someone gets what I mean and can explain it better Z |

Sercue documents normally have watermarks like the certificate and / or holograms. |
