At first sight it looks like Dog Maker but could it be Toy Maker as he is self-employed working at home, I think. If you look at the letter 'y' from the word 'factory' - above - doesn't it look the same as the last letter of the first word? Jennie

I thought looking at 1891 might help but I can't make that out either apart from .....................?............ maker. ...1901 one does look like it might say Toy maker

It's a pain, isn't it. His father was a gunsmith and a brother was a tile maker. I've been rattling my brain trying to think of anything connected Beth :)

could well be 'Toy', later there is a taylors cutter, with a very similar T

Hi Beth, just taken a look. its??? maker . The last letterseems to be a y when compared with the other handwriting. The best l can come up with is toy.
