There is a website online, that has many of the 1841 Name Indexes available ... but NOT all. TheGenealogist ... part of S & N group. Just do NOT use it to do lookups for OTHER people. Use it for your OWN research only. (see my other thread) Hope this helps. I can't possibly answer ALL the pm's I've just found in the inbox. I'm currently away from the boards. Trying to raise £150,000 for our local youth ! ...anyone got any spare thousands floating around ? ;-) Elaine ;-) PLEASE don't PM me, I feel guilty cos I can't ansa everyone x

Good luck with the fundraising. With that in mind, when I used to be a volunteer at the local Citizens Advice Bureau, (you may already know this) there is a collection of charities - many very obscure - which exist and will make donations for particularly causes in the local area. Worth you checking them out? They are ones you would never have heard of otherwise. Things like a charity set up a couple of hundred years back who will pay for local young persons who need help with their education. That sort of thing.

nudged. Thanks Heather. I'm currently in touch with 5 charities. Give funds from £3,000 upto £300,000. We have the kids, we have the Pool table, tennis table, TV's, cards, dominoes, Playstations etc etc etc ..... just need a building to put them in. Have (after 2 years) been given permission to build an extention onto the existing Community Centre .... but it will cost £150,000. Only a hand ful of charities will give for building work ... I'm playing the waiting game.... Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Elaine ;-)

Thought of you today Elaine. Little Ralph is such a lovely friendly little chap and today he was covering someone with kisses - just someone we met out walking - and they said 'hes gorgeous, you ought to charge for his kisses'. Well, got me thinking, not a bad idea for raising money for the dogs home. Say 50p a kiss off Ralphie (and youd get multiples, so a good deal). I reckon wed raise a good bit if we were at a fete all day. A lot more than if I were selling mine!

Cheers Heather. I may call upon you with a view to 'borrowing' Ralphie ! Elaine ;-)
