Elaine Report 1 Feb 2006 15:27

presumably have found marriage Willson, Charles Octavius Record Type: Marriages Quarter: September Year: 1900 District: Richmond Sry County: Surrey Volume: 2a Page: 842 .. which doesn't help. Need date and place of birth - or do you have the 1891 census - if so give us the details

He may well be listed as 'Charles Wilson', so we would need birthdate and birthplace to start trying to find the right one, as there must be hundreds of them! Kate.

Dave, That is some story you have there!! Couldn't resist a bit of a look around. Could this be them on 1881? John WILSON, Head, M , Male , 40 , Scotland , Traveller; Isabeller WILSON, Wife, M, Female, 38, Great Yarmouth, Suffolk, England Harriott CORLLEN, Mother, W , Female , 56 , Great Yarmouth, Suffolk, England , , Allice W. WILTON , Daur, Female , 10 , London, London, Middlesex, England , Scholar , William WILTON, Son, Male, 8, London, London, Middlesex, England, Scholar , *** Charles WILTON, Son, Male, 6, London, London, Middlesex, England , Scholar , Sydney WILTON , Son, Male , 3 , London, London, Middlesex, England They were living at 122 Liverpool Buildings, London, Middx It's clearly a mistranscription anyway ... because the father/head is actually a 'WILSON' although not with two Ls. What do you think? By the way, have you got his birth certificate yet? The father's name should be on that ... Regs Jane

Could he have been abroad in 1881? You said he was educated in Europe? I was just going to say get his marriage cert because it will give his father's name, but of course, his birth cert would too as mentioned above. Kate.
