I added one & this is what it says: Please note that this postem will not cause the entry to be marked as having a postem until the next database update, which could up to four weeks away. |

Merry, That's a brilliant idea. Just had a look and did one on those marriage pages that have 8 names. Thanks, Janice |

I haven't looked at it yet, but could you use it to say ''who married who'' on the marriage index? Merry |

Hi theres a thread about this on General board so have copied my reply from that and added it to this one. As the thread is easily lost there. Haven't noticed this before but it seems an efficient way of contacting members in your family tree, beats some of the ridiculous hot matches I've had. Only bit I'm not that keen on is putting my email address on the postem although its really easy to set up an email account that you only use for this purpose under whatever gooblydegook name you wish!! Particularly useful probably for branches where you have no contacts yet through GR. Teresa |

Has anybody else noticed the new facility that has been added to FreeBMD, 'Postem A Postem is a note left by someone about this record - the content of the postem is determined by the person who left it. FreeBMD can offer no assurance about the postem and will not enter into correspondence about it. You can leave a Postem by clicking on Add a postem.' You get to it by clicking on 'Info' next to the entry. Presumably if you know that there is a mistake in the entry, but it is not a mistranscription by the FreeBMD transcriber, you can put up a message about it. Kate. |
