I have a lot of family interest in the tree i have created, and i would like to get it all written down in booklet form (its not big or juicy enough for bible sized book)i would like to give all my cousins a copy because my dads siblings were so close and are really missed.I could just do a tree but i want to add all the brothers /sisters/aunts/uncles of all the ancestors with a history of their life, where they lived/worked/how many kids they had ect. Then maybe add some photos of the 7 siblings in various stages of their lives, Would this cost a lot and where would i start?any ideas would be welcome...Thanks..MOE! |

I suggest you try typing it up in word and seeing how many pages this goes to. You could photocopy it all and staple it, or you might, once you've got some idea of how big it would be and how many copies you want (remember to do one for the Society of Genealogists and one for the relevant records office) get a quote from a local printer. nell |

Some of the family tree softwares will let you do that in the package and export them as a pdf file. I know family tree maker is one that has tis ability. |

Lunar, some of my cousins don't have access to a computer, and i was thinking in years to come when computers are updated and software is all changed at least you will still be able to read a book, and to be honest i am not at best much good at computers so i would prefer to do something i can't mess up.....MOE! |

Moe, I started one on Famiy Tree maker and saved it as a pdf file. All you have to do then is print it out when you need it or want to get it published. |

Sorry Moe - I bought it as a programme disc from Curry's or somewhere similar. - about £30 - a year ago approx. I'm not technical but just put the disc into my computer and downloaded. - It is very good (BUT I don't know how to do the book thing yet !!) Dea x |

Moe, I think you can still get a version of family tree maker for free, I'll bump in a thread called Free Genealogical Software, which has the link. Dea, On the menus at the top go into BOOKS, and then the first on in the list is NEW BOOK click that and follow the instructions |
