Civil Registration only started in Matla in 1863 so you would need to parish records if he was done the Maltese way. I had an English man marrried to a maltese girl and it wasn't in the overseas section of the gro indexes. Pippa

Michelle, Go to http://certifikati.gov.mt/?lng=en. I ordered a Maltese birth certificate with a name and year, and received the certificate back in just over a week. Liz
