I didnt realise when I bought them Ancestry was going to have such a fantastic update, wish I had waited.

its funny you say that have been looking for a death for my uncle its not there, nor is my birth which is strange , maybe you are right I might still need 1837 after all thanks for your reply.

Val, someone said you get a two week period to cancel a sub to 1837.

You have got to feel sorry for 1837Online though havent you? At least Family Relatives has a better index and would be worth a few credits, I wonder how long 1837 will last now that this Ancestry Update is avaialble? P

1837 have offered a 2wk cooling off period for the £50 offer. With a minimum charge of £5, so you may as well use 50 credits. Sam

1837 have aqquired the National Archivist databases. Probably to widen their appeal because of Ancestry putting on the BMD's.

thanks Heather didnt know that I went and bought a load thinking I would need them, maybe I can offer some look ups as Ancestry dont seem to be up to date anyway.

I still think that they are using free BMD I have just checked for a birth in 1916 whic I know exists but it doesn't come up

John Are you searching the images or still the transcriptions? The new stuff is the images as they are on 1837online but free to all. Go in through this page and bookmark it for the future http://www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx remove brackets Margaret
