I have found an Edward S. Randall on the 1881 census who I believe is my ggg grandfather's brother, he was born c1832 in Wimbourne, Dorset and the details are RG11/0019 Registration district: Kensington Sub-registration district: St John Paddington ED, institution, or vessel: 20c Folio: 89 Page: 28 I would be really pleased if someone who has access to Ancestry would possibly send me the image, I will send you my email address. I am trying to find out if this person is definitely my relation (he is named in what I believe is my ggg grandfather's will) and I would therefore be really grateful if someone is able to find him in the 1871 census (or the 1891 census instead). Wow. Many thanks both of you. I now know this is definitely the right family now as Joseph Randall who is my ggg grandfather was a builder and his son George a bricklayer. Joseph was born Blandford, Dorset. There was a bit of confusion as the addresses given on his death certificate didn't match what I already knew but the building/bricklaying was obviously a family business.
