Please can anyone tell me what i have to do to the family record sheet so that i can type straight on it instead of writing in the details by hand. Thanks Jane

Jane I have no idea what you are talking about! Where does this sheet come from and do you want to fill it in online or put it into a typewriter? nell

Use table facilty to make your own. Save as your master stencil. When you want to use it, open up file, complete and save under different file name. Alternatively, copy and paste original stencil, and then complete. It really is easy, honest, - making a table was the first thing I learnt to do. I looked at various commercially produced ones for ideas and then customised my own. Jay

Hi Nell If you go to your home page and scroll down a bit you should see under 'Useful' there are some printable charts to help you with your research. You can save them in PDF format but i have not been able to save them in a way that you can fill them in online. You have to fill them in by hand. I was hoping someone knew how to do this. Jane

Ancestry have a set of forms for transcription too, they include family sheets, census forms amoungst others. They are all in PDF format, but I don't think you can type in them but they would be handy to have as templates. http://www.ancestry*co*uk/charts/familysheet*aspx
