Why can't I find information on census's

I have marriage certificates for: David Reece - Florence Bower 1897 - father David Reece David Reece -Elizabeth Williams 1874 - father John Reece. I can only find information on 1901 census, why aren't they on previous ones. Am I missing something. Grateful for any advice |

Have received two pm's from Maureen with the following info: First message David Reece age 22. address 28 Windmill Street Mariage Wellington Church, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. 3/1/1897 Florence Bowers age 21 address 32 Windmill Street Second message - this fits with marriage posted earlier on thread.
