that looks like it I thought they had shortened Elizabeth Jeanette

It could also be a shortened version of Elizabeth as the G could be a Z

Hello there, Alfred Worboys, born 1849 in Hertfordshire ( no town given) Wife Jane, born 1848, in St Pancras, London. At time of census they lived at 142 Elizabeth Street, in Bethnal Green. TheParliamentary Borough was North Hackney. Alfred was a carpenter. Jane had no occupation..just wife. No children are mentioned. The Civil Parish was Bethnal green and the ecclesiastical Parish was St. Peter. The reference is RG 10/494. Hope this info. helps.

Thanks everybody. There were no children at that time, they married May 1869 and Jane was about to get pregnant with my grandfather, born 27 January 1872.

1881 census shows Alfred's place of birth as Hertford, Hertford. Any chance of 1891?
