Hope someone can help me resolve this problem. My ggrandfather Samuel Thomas Millership b1863 married his first wife, her name was either Caroline Webster or Hannah Webster, but dont know what year she was born. Samuel married one of them in 1884 but she died before 1891 as then he married my ggrandmother Edith Snowball. Can't for the life of me find the death of Caroline or Hannah their surname then would have been Millership. Samuel was born in West Bromwich but when he married either Caroline or Hannah he was in Liverpool when he lived until he died. Any help or information would be much appreciated. Regards Yvonne

Can you be sure she actually died? Divorce was expensive (if even possible) and some people just moved away and started again. Though Yvonne's result looks promising. Christine

I think he must have married Hannah. First thing is that having looked at Family Relatives (which has the full GRO indexes) there are no deaths for a Caroline Millership between 1884 and 1891. If he DID marry Caroline, then either, she didn't die, or she did, but her death reg never reached the GRO indexes. When they married in 1884 the other groom was Francis Dainty Woodford. I think this MAY be that groom with Caroline Woodford, nee Webster: 1891 Woodford, Ada abt 1886 Liverpool, Lancashire, England Visitor Sculcoates Yorkshire Woodford, Caroline abt 1866 Dorset, England Visitor Sculcoates Yorkshire Woodford, Frank abt 1854 Northants, Welford Visitor Sculcoates Yorkshire Note that though this couple were not born in Lancs, their dau was born Liverpool and is about the right age for an 1884 marriage for her parents. So, you need a death for Hannah Millership, between 1884 and 1891: There is only one death on Family Relatives and that one is also on FreeBMD: Deaths Jun 1887 Millership Hannah 24 Runcorn 8a 145 Merry
