Thanks Julie, I have seen that one and I may have to try that, but I have been concentrating on the geographical area, all the places in the census returns, birth/ death certs are centred around Carnkie/Wendron, ( I live nr Plymouth and have visited the area and poured over the local maps etc), although its entirely possible that Mary had William away from her home ie possibly at a relations. I must check on that , it may come down to sending for a few more certs in the end - Wiliam was my husbands great grandad and we know so much else about him, but I just wanted to tie up the birth date. thanks again Ronnie thanks also to Ted!!! |

I am trying to find date of birth for William Henry Oliver born 1872/3. in Cornwall. Parents were Joseph Oliver and Mary Gay. I have William's death cert which states aged 64 died July 1937 and marriage cert states aged 20 when married Dec 1892. From census returns ages are: 1881 8 - born Wendron 1891 19 - born Wendron 1901 27 - born Helston All named districts next to each other. His elder twin sister were born Sithney 1864, family were at Crane in 1871 at census and Carnkie 1881/1891. Have tried certs for Redruth 71 5c 266 / Helston 71 5c 199 and Redruth 73 5c 246 - all not him, and also trawled through 1837 with no joy ( unless I missed it) I'd be glad of any suggestions thanks Ronnie ps sister Susan born Filtrick Carnkie 1877 |
