In 1881 Susan is aged 17, not 14, on the original census page! Merry

i know Merry their are discrepancies with this young ladies age, different ages have been entered and until i find her birth entry too i dont know for sure, but i feel that maybe the age gap, (her 14 and him 22) may have had something to do with it! Also, I believe that Rosa williams maybe her daughter and not her sister, strange goings on. And to complicate things further with this family, the williams, i havent' found one of susan williams seniors childrens births!! (hope that makes sense)

Well in 1881 she says she was 17 (not 14). In 1861 she is 6 (have you got that one?) I can't find her marriage to Mr O'Brien either......maybe she and her mother didn't believe in such things?? In 1871 Susan senr says she is Married, not widowed, but her husband is not at home!! Merry

Thank you merry, no i dont have the entry for 1861 census, is her father home on that one as I don't know his name yet either !? I really appreciate your help, what a family!

Sorry, I meant to say in 1871 she says she is 6!! (not 1861!) You said you couldn't see a birth reg for any of the William's children. Did you mean the children of Susan senr?? Here's the birth reg for Rosa, aged 5 months in 1881: Williams, Rosa Edith 1881 Q1 Hereford 6a 510 (If you are going to buy this, please check the page number.....it COULD be 610 not 510.....unsure myself!) o.k merry re 1861 - no prob. Thanks for Rosa's details, I think it is the same rosa that later appears with susan bryan census returns. I have found all the children of Susan williams / bryan . but none of susan williams senr. However, i did notice that there was an orphanage two doors away on one census return - amazing how ones imagination can run riot when drawing blanks!
