Hi, I am looking on ancestry for the GRO numbers to these two marriages but cant find them anywhere - I've managed to find other ones but these are stumping me a bit - I wonder if anyone else can on a different site? ERNEST JONES & MINNIE BILHAM (around 1929 in London) FREDERICK ALLEN & ADA CANTERBURY (around 1920 in Bridport, Dorset) Thanks, Jon |

The only ones you can find them on are pay to view - 1837online or familyrelatives.org |

it was based on the first child who was born a year later - i can't look on 1837 because my computer doesn't let me download the viewing software! :( |

I checked over 20 years for one marriage thinking that the child was their first as born in 1922. BUT no the couple married in 1898 and she was actually their last child. Only found the marriage because it appeared after the last update on FreeBMD. I have even got a birth certificate and the parents marriage certificate both dated the same day. Maureen |

Jonathan I had same problem with 1837 - to download the viewer - it really is invaluable - disable your firewall, download it then enable the firewall again. Regards Looby |

Jonathan this could be one that you want.... Frederick Allen married a female with the surname Canterbury in Bridport. September quarter 1918 ref no: 5a 920 (didn't have enough credits left to check her first name). Georgina. |

Jonathan, Adding to Georgina's info, the only Canterbury marriage is that of Ada M Canterbury, September quarter 1918 ref no: Bridport 5a 920 So there you have them. For the other couple you'll have to slog through the microfiche or spend your money at Familyrelatives.org Happy hunting, Peter. |
