You may be able to find the old school is still there, so go in and see if they have kept the registers, many have ,or will tell you where they are. Take a digital camera as the the register, if you find it will photo well by this means. Good luck. Report back ! Maurice

Have a lovely time Sharon. I hope you have proper addresses rather than 'the cottage', 'by turnpike' or 'near school' like those I had when I went ancestor house hunting! Have a lovely time and a quick cream tea for me.

So excited you posted twice! Have a great day. It's a spooky feeling when you trace your ancestors' footsteps. Often there's been a lot of change, but I found the house my great-grandfather died in which has not changed much, and the house another great-grandfather was born in, which is now a listed building and quite posh. It's next door to a pub I went to years ago, when I didn't know I had connections on the other side of the wall!!! nell

Good Luck. I have visited the area where I found the house my great grandad lived when he died, the churchyard in which he is buried and I have found his plot, the business in which he worked - butlins and the road in which , my grandad was living when my dad was born - even though the house does not exist. It is exciting and it is all part of the research. Have fun Fi

Visiting Wiltshire tomorrow to stay in the tiny village where Gt, 2xGt and 3xGt grandfathers were all born and lived. Maybe even 4xgt !! Have got a list of things to check. Don't think I will sleep tonight, even though I have a 4 hour drive in the morning starting at 7
