Hi, could someone look up Martha Robson. Born c1829 in Fridaythorpe, Yorkshire. Martha might be with husband Thomas and Child Thomas, or might still be unmarried and living with parents (hopefully!). Her maiden name was Robson also

If i remember rightly all census' state Fridaythope as birth place No cant find a marriage at the moment, hoping it was after the census but i doubt it

If there isnt a Martha Robson with Husband Thomas, its very possible indeed. Can anyone find Thomas on 1851? His occupation on Matthews birth cert is Laborourer

Robyne, I have had a look at the various censuses and there is nothing that stands out as obvious. Like Esta said earlier, have you details of the family - names, dates, places etc - from later censuses? It is always better to work backwards from a known point for which you are reasonably certain.

Still trying 1851 for you - but the details you gave for 1861 you said she's with her husband Thomas but as far as I can see she is a widow, there is no Thomas !! and it's Thomas Vertner not Mathew ! Or have I got the wrong family ? 1861....For ref Hannah Robson abt 1854 York, Yorkshire, England Daughter York St Maurice Yorkshire Martha Robson abt 1829 York, Yorkshire, England Head York St Maurice Yorkshire Martha A Robson abt 1858 York, Yorkshire, England Daughter York St Maurice Yorkshire Thomas Robson abt 1851 York, Yorkshire, England Son York St Maurice Yorkshire Thomas Vertner abt 1818 York, Yorkshire, England Boarder York St Maurice Yorkshire Is Fridaythorpe near York ?

Thats them, have just subscribed again. I have the birth cert of Matthew Venter Robson (1861) and after looking at this census i believe that this Thomas was the father, as it seems a timing impossibility for Thomas Robson to have been dead in 1861 census and then for Matthew to have been born in October. Perhaps she never married and lied on the certs?
