you birth 1867 not 1887 I think it must be same person just very wierd perhaps his father prefered being Edwin. its like the 1891 says publow but 1901 says Taunton.Birth dates were quite often slightly out Jeanette

a big thank you to all yes i made a mistake on the birth years the diffrence 1865 and 1867 is only 2 yrs you got it right edward cox (publow must come under taunton) the only thing is edwards father on the birth cert name is edward and on all the census he.s edwin forgot to add on the 1861 census there is a edwin cox with thomas and mary who are edwards grandparents so it does look like i am on the right track do you think? i have got birth cert for edward cox born 1887 taunton 5c 383 but father down as edward mother julia cox maiden name crawley but cant find a birth for edward cox publow dob 1865? much appreciate all your thoughts on this.

Gloria, I am assuming you made a typo with the dob? If so it may be the same person - its not unusual for someone to appear twice on the censuses. Their real home/family put them down even though they were visiting somewhere else on that night. I have at least three examples of that on my tree. I expect the census instructions were misunderstood - or ignored! Anne

hi i have had a birth cert this morning but not sure if i have the right person, i have been looking for edward cox for about a month,he,s on 1901 census i know that's right my nans on there.1891 census that is the same person,cant find anything on 1881.then on 1871 he's with his gran and granfather edward cox 1865 publow somerset nan mary cox granfather thomas cox. now comes the confuseing part he's also on 1871 england census with his mother and father?edwin cox and julia cox thay were travellers the difference on one census dob is1867 and birth address taunton and all other census dob 1865 born publow somerset, am i searching 2 diffrent edward cox?this is driving me mad think i better give up befor i start going mad.
