Ive not been able to find several of mine in Norfolk. I mailed ancestry and they said that the info is not complete and they are updating continually.

Sorry forgot to add... In 1841 with Ann Small and Thomas Small approx 1816 and 1806 respectively (obiviously there could be up to a 5 year variation. Also another sibling Thomas Joy approx 1833. I do suspect they could have died though! S.

Thanks guys, I have tried looking by just first name but nothing there fits. I suspect their parents may have died between 1841 and 1851 so am trying to find them anywhere!!! Thanks for looking! S

Driving me crazy now. Not having any luck although there is a Joy family in Frensham but no sign of Henry. Maureen

Try with just a first name and year of birth, if too many results put in the County - then try surname. You have to be a bit inventive with the 1851. I found one of mine with birth year and Sussex and had to trawl through ~:0( Some of the transcriptions on birthplace are dire.. ie Merefield, Maresfield, Ladsworth, Lodsworth, Ringmor, Ringmer and those are the good ones - I'm not knocking the transcribers by the way I'm sure they did thier best.

What exactly are the details you have for both of them in 1816 ?........then we can try 1851 ....can we have fathers / other family names from 1841 ?

Oh dear, with so much excitement and anticipation I started ploughing my way through my 1851 queries and yet half my relatives appear to have disappeared! They were all definately alive but can't find them anywhere - tried Merry's tip of searching first name and village... nothing! Two are proving particularly frustrating having found them on the 1841 gone on 51... Ann Rebecca Small, born Frensham Surrey 1843 (ish) - can't find her birth record but she marries in 1861! Henry Joy born 1835 Frensham - found on 1861 with wife, and all the others subsequent. Where are they in 1851... Starting to think they were abducted by aliens! Sarah
