Hi, I was just looking for someone else and came across this census record on the ingeneas site - Is this your Albert? Albert E. DENNIS Age: 31 Year: 1901 Price: $7.15US; $8.79Cdn. Description: 1901 census of Ontario: ONTARIO COUNTY (only those giving a year of immigration to Canada and who were born outside of Canada are included). Typical records in this document contain the following information: name; relationship to head of household; marital status; exact birthdate; birthplace; year of immigration; origins; religion; and, occupation. NOTE: When a transcript of an individual is ordered, summary data consisting of names and ages of all others in the household will also be provided. Dea x |

As Dea said there are strict privacy rules about releasing Vital statistics here. Ontario started registration in 1869 and births are public domain from then until 1908. there is a site trying to put Ontario births online http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb(.)com/~births/index.htm marriages to 1923 http://homepages.rootsweb(.)com/~maryc/ontmarr.htm deaths to 1933 http://rootsweb(.)com/~onvsr/deaths.htm I have found alot of info for my family in South Western Ontario by looking at newspapers Brantford library has the local paper indexed online at http://www.brantford.library.on.ca/genealogy and if try google you may find something similar for your area Hope this of some help Barbara |

If anyone can add to what I have on my Canadian Dennis family I would be grateful. Albert Dennis was born in Romford, Essex, England about 1887 and emigrated, I don't know when. His brother William (1889) also went. They settled in Owen Sound, Ontario. Albert married a Mary E 'Something or other' and died in 1939. Mary died in 1969 and from the burial record would have been born c1884. William never married and died in 1957. Info. on Albert's marriage and children would be welcome, plus when they arrived in Canada. Many thanks if anyone can point me to sources. |

Sorry Isabel - bad news I am afraid - Canada is very 'tight' on access to information etc. Birth details in Ontario are only available up to 1908. There is no way to get around this but you might try local newspapers etc. Dea x p.s. All states have different cut-off dates. You might be lucky with finding the parents deaths - I found one in BC for 1979. - Then you may find something out from the death cert. Do you have any details of these? Dea x |
