I reported this to Ancestry and got the usual reply that you could not reproduce the fault and for me to clear my cache. It's OK tonight. MB |

Further to my last message, there is a round-about way of getting into 1861. Having entered a name into the Search Your Ancestors on the home page, it is possible to select the 1861 census from there to access an 1861 census search box - but it's hardlly direct! |

I have the same problem - I don't get a search box, just a county list. That's a dead end because having selected a town you are then presented with a list of districts. All the other census searches are as normal, it's just 1861. |

Hi Peter Last night I was getting a list of results, followed by the county details, and no search boxes in between: which I assume is what Claire has been getting. I've not seen this before, and did wonder if it was Ancestry's way of trying to persuade me to subscribe. |

Claire can't understand what your problem is. If you want to search by nane you use the normal dialogue box - put in the name and as much other info that you have. The list of counties below it is if you want to search the images by place, such as when you don't have the name, but know where the location might be. |

You could also check your login name at the top of the screen ...... It happened to me the other day, and my login name had changed !!!!!!! I had to log out .... and then log back in again, and everything went back to normal. Elaine ;-) |

If you are losing the search screen - I was last night - just go back a screen or two. |

If you click on 1861 england and scroll down to the counties, well thats what I get. Most frustrating because what do I do if the family have moved areas? Claire |
