There are various Danslow bmds on Ancestry civil reg in both Marylebone and Poplar (reg district which includes Bow). If you could decide which ones are yours it would make searching easier. Robyne I echo Heather's comments - I have found various strands of family mistranscribed all over the place. I've also had to trawl through a whole reel of microfilm at the FRC, which looked as though the enumerator had put a spider in a pot of ink and then put it on the census pages to do a tap dance! Mistakes were made by enumerators, and by transcribers. Annoying, I know, but here are some errors I've found, to give you an idea of just how widely you have to think: Purvey 1851 and 1901 census mistranscribed as Curvey Smoothy 1851 Smarthy 1871 Smoothey 1881 Smothey 1891 Timothy and 1901 Lenorthey Mealing variously as Maling, Melin, Melins Matthews 1871 Marthers 1901 Maththews Moore 1871 Thorne (only found because staying with Marthers!) Chowns 1851 Thomas nell |

I am not sure if this will help, one of my familys vanished from Shropshire, it was then proved they went to USA for a few years, and then came back. They were not rich, only miners. It happened between 1830-39, and I don't know why. So be prepared for any eventuality, never close your eyes to possible solutions. Good luck |

Believe it! Of course it may just be it is one of the areas where sheets are missing. |

Hi I have tried the obvious, like looking for a first name and age, or last name and nothing else. i've also looked at close variants as well. i think its going to be a thing of trawling through absolutely everything. i just cant believe that it would be a whole family, not just one address that is mistranscribed! |

Just a thought, have you tried a variant with an O - onslow or something? |

I guess these are the ones you found? View Record George Danslow abt 1840 Marylebone, Middlesex, England Son St Marylebone Middlesex View Record James Danslow abt 1795 Ealing, Middlesex, England Head St Marylebone Middlesex That name is ripe for mistranscriptions though, isnt it. I should try as Nell said and put in the details of first name, dob, pob and have a good search. D often mistaken for B Ive noticed. |

Have you tried searching using just name, rough date & place of birth? By the way, Marylebone is in Westminster, the West End of London. Bow is definitely East End, and I think would have been Essex in 1851. nell |

I appear to be missing a whole section of my family in 1851. I can only find one family of Danslow's, and i dont think they are even mine!! I should have charles c1830 (could now live in Liverpool), James c1826, George c1840, plus any other Danslows. All born in Middlesex, around the Marylebone possibly Bow area. If someone could find them i would very greatful |
