It was apparently only a trial run - a little bird has told us to watch out for next Thursday.

What has happened to the 1851 on ancestry? It seems to have vanished. That link we were given for the 1851 you can't search for free anymore.

I was told in was November - but I wonder if they will put the full 1851 on then and just a sample of the 1841.

Rutland is way too small but I've got loads in Leics so wouldn't mind if they put that on

That's a point - imagine if just Rutland went on!!! 1861 went on all at once, but the others went on bit by bit. Let's live in hope. Jacquie XXX

Ooh i've developed a nervous twitch now. Would this be the whole country by chance or some lonesome county?

How long do you think it will be before the 1841 goes on ancestry then Jacquie?

I've got quite a few to look at Heather. I don't like keep asking for help. its allright on the odd occasion but when you've got a lot to look up. I think i will have to use the pay per view and spend my money wisely if i can. As for ancestry you never know with them do you? You can wait months or they will put the whole country on just like that. I've got to do it while I am in the mood though and now is a good time before the silly season starts.

I think ancestry is best value as you have unlimited views if you message me with your email address I'll send you a referral to register free with lost cousins - you'd then get a 20% reduction on an ancestry subscription as 1841 51 going on. Thanks Jacquie

Louise, if you arent desperate, why dont you put a look up request on Records Office instead? Hopefully, it is rumoured that ancestry will be bringing out 1841 shortly (?) or use the pay as you go option on the genealogist - I think I paid a fiver to search the index and got what 50 units?

for the genealogist *dot* co *dot* uk. It says from £4.66 a month but when you go to the page it looks like you have to pay £15 per county per year and then its on a credit basis and i don't understand how many credits you get! Does anyone know how it all works? I just want the 1841 London, middlesex, Essex and possibly Surrey census and don't want to pay more than £30 for 3 months with unlimited credits. i got a headyache now lol
