Hi, in 1841 i have Harriett c1819,Georgiana c1822 and Emily Osborne c1832. I have found baptisms for Georgiana and Emily in Rattlesden, Suffolk with the right dates and that is fine, i can also follow Harriett so thats ok too. But im missing Georgiana especially in following census' and im also struggling to find a death or marriage in the right area. I think i have found Emily in Middlesex in 1881 married to a James Worn but i cant find any marriage to confirm this (i believe this is them as one of Harriets children are living with them). Could anyone see if they can find anything. Neither Emily or Georgiana were baptised with a middle name. Sorry just another thing, how do i go about finding their mother? on the baptisms it just has Mary Osborne, so no father and i cant remember seeing her on 1841 hence why the children were all together i think. I hope this makes sense |

If their father wasn't listed on the Baptisms, it's likely they were all illegitimate. Normally, baptisms have fathers listed, but not mothers. Given that Harriet was baptised in 1819, Mary was probably born around the turn of the century. She may or may not have been born in the same parish. I'd check the baptisms in the same church for her from 1798-1804. |

thanks Jess, makes much more sense when you do it! Harriett married a John Crick/Creek in 1866, he isnt the father of her children I have no marriage confirmation of Emily, just Frederick being with them in 1881. As Emily is from the right place and age i have 'presumed' for the minute that it is her, until i can find the marriage. I have searched freebmd for one and nothing comes up. 'illegitmacy' appears to be a common thread in my family so im prepared for no father, but i cant find Mary anywhere. As far as is possible by 1841 she could have remarried, died, moved, anything really! |

Perhaps Georgiana got married (or died) in London / Middlesex, given that Emily was apparently living there? Kate. |

Ive only been able to find a death that could be possible in 1863 for a Georgiana Maria Osborne, but she should still then show on 1861 census. As it doesnt say the age of the person i cant confirm that it might be her as opposed to someone else. |

Hi Jess all those could be possible as on 1841 you just have to state if you were born in the county. plus ive had relations that in some census info was born in one county, then moved to another and decided that actually they were born there!! Do you have the husbands of that lot so i can try and find marriages? |
