Karl, do you have either of their marriage certs? This gives ages, and usually fathers, which all helps in narrowing it down. You also haven't given a place for Fanny. ''Cheapside'' isn't really anything to go on lol I know of about 10! her name - Fanny Ravenscroft, married a Netley, then married a Price. |

Fanny would have been living in the birmingham district of st.martins in 1924 when she had her son george herbert price, she was also married to george herbert price as the son and dad had the same names. I don't have a marriage certificate for fanny! |

Ok, so we need to start there. Fanny must've married George after 1920 or before 1912. The same with the Netley man. I'd start looking from 1924, and work backwards. You know Herberts full name, so I'd start with him. You will need to search the GRO registers for this. Do you know where they are available? |

Fanny was married 2 times. I got the info from her son's birth certificate, her son was george herbert price who was born in st martins in birmingham in 1924. |

I would say that Fanny Ravenscroft would have been born between 1890 and 1905 really as she had her son george herbert price in 1924. |

Marriages Sep 1902 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- >> Ketley Ernest Aston 6d 501 Ravenscroft Fanny Aston 6d 501 Could be seen as Netley. She /may/ have been born in those times, but very unlikely since she was married twice. Maybe? Births Mar 1883 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- RAVENSCROFT Fanny Aston 6d 389 can't find the 2nd marriage, so it must've been after 1920. |

Karl - I thought that Fanny Ravenscroft birth I gave you yesterday would be the one. Are you certain her first married name was Netley? I thought it would turn out that she married Ernest Ketley on that marriage entry I also found yesterday. Even if you have a certificate that clearly says Netley it could have been copied out wrong. Anyway, if that was her first marriage then I think the date of that birth fits in quite well with the marriage date, so I still reckon that would be the right birth entry. (The 1883 Aston one that someboy has posted above.) She could certainly have had her son at the age of 41! If you want to check on her first married name, you will need to search for her second marriage - first of all search for the husband's name, and when you find him see if the spouse's surname is given as Netley or Ketley (assuming it is after 1911 - if not, then when you find him just look for a matching entry for either Fanny Netley or Fanny Ketley). But you would have to search the GRO marriage index because it isn't on FreeBMD. Kate. |
