1851 help i can't get on it

Am I doing something wrong. I reg. with ancestry.co.uk today with the 20% off. I have been trying the 1851 for my famlies in Lincolnshire and it keeps coming up with No Matches.where am i going wrong.

thank you both. Did give it a go but it says 1851 sample, tried it only one name shoewd up and none for the otherside. so lincolnshire may not be up on it yet. will have to get on with husbands side.

I think that Lincolnshire is on it. The search seems a bit hit and miss at the moment. I have had your problem too. Try looking for the 'Ranked' search instead of the exact match one. If you want everyone within a village or parish you have to go for the exact match one though.

I think the problems are because Ancestry haven't actually launched the 1851 census yet. I got an email from them yesterday, saying they will email me and let me know when it is launched. Kath. x

I had an e-mail from them this morning to say that it was 'coming soon'!!

When I try via the suggested channels, i.e. logging on to Ancestry, minimising, then going into Ancestry 1851-census and putting a name in, I keep being taken to the 1861 census. Grrr. :-(

clicked onto it but went to 1861. If you make address bar blue by clicking on to it then click again change 1861 to 51 it goes to 1851 census phew!! Jeanette

Catriona - see Jeanette's thread re 1851. I'm going to try it now, as I've come out of my sulk! lol. :-(
