Fingers crossed, Gary, cos it was so annoying! I'm all for more people being interested - but not when the system can't cope and we the 'hardened' genealogists are made to suffer!

Iam not sure it will this time around, for a couple of months after the last series, my local studies was ramed every day, now it has reduced to empty every day, even worse than before the show, i think and have noted lateley when somebody comes in and are showen the films and they have no address to go on, they trawl a while and then say this is to much like hard work, thought it would be easier than this and you dont see them again, i dont think the programe will have the same impact again.

I thought it was 6 weeks or more for some poor folks! More like Lancashire RO has a reputation for. Christine

Ohh, I thought it was gonna be something really horrible then, like they're gonna stop selling them!! Don't do that again lol Does mean that they're likely to go out to 4 weeks instead of the 2 (yes 2!) days it took my last one.

BBC: The BBC is producing a second series of the very successful ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ programme, where celebrities are invited to trace their family tree. ScotlandsPeople was featured in the last series and assisted in some searches including those of Ian Hislop and Moira Stuart, and hopes to feature again in the second series due out in the coming months. My recollection of last autumn is that lead-times for certificates (especially from GRO) escalated wildly during, and for a while after, the last series. Christine

I had a round-robin from ScotlandsPeople recently. It included this ominous message ... (I'll put it put in a ''reply'' so you have a chance of being able to read it!)
