It's a marriage: Dec 1974 THOMAS (surname) christian name: Kerry marrying CROSS I'm passing this info onto someone else, I want to make sure it's correct. What happens when it's not possible to read the ref on 1837? Thanks for your help Sam

Can you not go to a local library and see if they have the gro index? As you know the qtr, etc it shouldn't take too long. I looked at the page and wouldn't even hazard a guess. Sorry Rachel

Blimey.. I am a Numpty sometimes, I just realised that as it's a marriage so I can cross reference it with the spouses name!! It's Ploughley - 20 2139 Even then the 1 is debatable Still appreciate someone else looking Sam Thanks Rachel & Fiona. Fiona, I think it's a 1 rather than a 4, comparing it to a 4 below their 4's are done the other way, rather than the typed way... if you know what I mean :)

Just been looking at the numbers up and down the page, definately not a 4, looks like a 1 given the angle of the bit and it is a bit that we can see. Fiona.

I only found my own marriage on 1837Online by cross-referencing from my husband's name - my name had been mistranscribed with OU in the middle where it should have been EN!!! My father's writing was flamboyant but not very easy to read. As it was he who took the service, it was his writing in the register, so I suppose I shouldn't be astonished. Christine
