On the message boards if you are a married person it's your firstname(s) and married surname that come up........ On Contacts and Messages you will get the married surname in some places and the maiden surname in others (I can never remember which was round it is, but certainly both names appear within the Messages part of GR) So.....I'm ''Merry Monty Montgomery'' here, but I know that when I send PM's to others, in some records I will appear as Merry Monty Burchill (my maiden name) - which doesn't have the same ring about it!!!!!! If I write to someone about a possible tree connection (ie a serious matter lol) I usually sign off ''Merry (Alias Sarah)'', so they don't think I'm a complete nutcase.........(Oh....but I am lol) Merry

Hello Angela, You go into your account details and you change your first name and your surname. So, for example, I left my first name as 'Helen' but changed my surname to 'in France'. I hope that's clear, Helenxx

I notice that a lot of people don't use their real names on these message boards. Please can someone tell me how to set up an 'alias'. Thanks. Angela
