Hope someone can help with this although I think I may have asked you before and then put it aside as a bad job!!! Marriage cert for James Kippax and Mary Parker 1841 Briercliffe, Burnley Lancashire. Father of Mary looks like Daut Parker (struggle making out the first name) Mary was born 1819, died 1857. Can't find any reference anywhere on Ancestry for her father. have tried looking for David, Daniel. It is definitely D and what looks like three letters after it. They would have lived in the Briercliffe area of Burnley. Can anyone find him, I know its a long shot. thanks for trying ***** I have found out what I had forgot--Mary Parker's mother was called Mary as she is in the same grave (fact). SOOO if we think D!!! is Daniel then can anyone find him married to a Mary probably before 1819 ( I know we wont have the cert) maybe in census or somewhere, I have no idea where to look. Gloria x

Hi Sue, sorry don't have a scanner. I must have gone over this before as I got the cert in May, I then must have put it to one side frustrated. Going through some stuff up it popped again so I thought I'd give it another go. Would have thought he would be in Ancestry 1861 or deaths but I can't find him. Gloria x

Adding my 2p - Dan'l is a standard abbreviation for Daniel, but you don't always get the apostrophe.

Thanks Brenda, everybodies 2p is valued. Think I may have to ring the GRO to see what they say. Gloria x

Just rung GRO and they suggested I send it back to them and they try to decipher it or, do another copy. So that is what I thinkI will do unless someone comes up with a magic wand and finds him somewhere. Gloria x

Nudge because I have updated it a bit. If anyone thinks I am on a lost cause please say so and I will send the cert back. Don't like to give up though. Gloria x
