Wonder if anyone can help with this. I have a subscription to Ancestry UK and am more than happy with the info I can find. Whilst answering a thread earlier, I noticed that someone else was giving BMD info for 1984 onwards quoting the source as Ancestry – I’ve never noticed these records, and having access would probably keep me quiet for days!!!! (I’ve only ever been able to see the ‘England and Wales Civil Registration’ link that takes you to 1837-1983 records) I messaged him privately and he tells me that he has US Ancestry subscription, but that it shouldn’t affect the UK one and they should be available. Please can someone with a UK Ancestry subscription tell me how on earth I access these records – I will be eternally grateful. Regards Trudy |

From memory On the right hand side of the first search page there are links to 'recent' or 'all' databases. Selecting 'all' then gives an alphabetical listing. In the E section you will find England and Wales civil registration 1984-2002 |

Trudy Go to birth & death records Then scroll down the page to the box choose England & Wales Birth, Death or Marriage records. They have 1984 to 2002. Good luck Rachel |

All the above work....and also, if you are on the main ''Search for Your Ancestors'' page, type in this example in the ''Ancestor's Name'' box: ''Ian Smith'' then click Search. The second section of the Results will read: Birth, Marriage, & Death Records 2,657 matches | info England and Wales, Civil Registration Marriage Index: 1984-2000 1,577 England and Wales, Civil Registration Birth Index: 1984-2000 822 England and Wales, Civil Registration Death Index: 1984-2002 210 England and Wales, Civil Registration Index: 1837-1983 25 London Times, Marriages, 1982-2004 22 The usual 1837-1983 part has been pushed down into 4th place bacause Ian isn't a Victorian name really!! The more recent records show in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. If you had searched William Smith, you would have had to click on: ''view all 2,657 Birth, Marriage, & Death Records results >>'' to pick up the next stage! Merry |
